Lance Stanbury

Chairman of West Suffolk Conservative Association

Lance Stanbury was elected as Chairman in  March 2017.

As a councillor Lance represented Red Lodge ward on Forest Heath Council from 2015 to 2019. 

Lance was cabinet member for planning and growth on Forest Heath District Council from 2016 to 2019 where his portfolio covered planning, environmental health, strategic planning, economic development, Licensing, Local Plans and planning enforcement.

Lance has served and represented the community for many years. He was formerly Leader of Welwyn Hatfield Council in Hertfordshire from 1999 to 2000, he stood for parliament for Manchester Blackley in the 2001 general election and he was a non-executive director of the East & North Hertfordshire NHS Hospital Trust from 2004 to 2007. He runs his own retail property management consultancy and works internationally in Europe, the Middle East and Far East.

Dave has lived in Bardwell since 2002 when he left the Royal Air Force. He has served as a Borough Councillor in St Edmundsbury, winning a national award for Financial Management. He served in the Council Cabinet from 2007 to 2015.
