Councillor Karen Soons

County Councillor for Thingoe South

Karen is County Councillor for Thingoe South. She moved to rural Suffolk 25 years ago with husband Martin to raise their 4 teenage children. As a director and trustee of local companies and charities, Karen would like to give something back to her local community.

Karen feels rural Parishes need a greater say in the future of their area. Being involved as a trustee/director of the Theatre Royal & St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Karen knows how important outreach is in our local community.

Karen was elected for Thingoe South Division, Suffolk, in the County Council elections on Thursday, 4th May, 2017. The Division includes 20 hamlets/villages south of Bury St Edmunds. The Wards of Barrow cum Denham, Chedburgh, Rougham, Horringer & Whelnetham are within the boundaries for Thingoe South.
