Carol is district councillor for Barningham ward.

Carol is married with two children, she was born in Cheshire, educated in Surrey and has lived in Suffolk villages for over 40 years, the last seven in Hopton.  She worked for 18 years as Regional Administrator for the Meat and Livestock Commission  and thus was heavily involved with the livestock farming community. After that she managed a Barristers Chambers, retiring in 2014 after 18 years. She enjoys village life, the theatre , history, music and outdoor pursuits having 4 horses and four dogs.

She chairs the Suffolk Domestic Violence Forum and has been a Police Authority Member for 20 years.
