Cllr Simon Cole

My name is Simon Cole and I am the current District Councillor for Exning. I live on Burwell road with my wife and two children who both go to the local primary and secondary schools. Over the last 7 years it has been a great honour to represent Exning and I have gained enormous experience over the years and expertise on almost every committee. I am also am proud to be the Chairman of Overview and Scrutiny on Forest Heath District Council (5 years). I am also on Licensing, Development Control (Planning), Local Plan Working Group (Planning the District), Future Governance & Constitution Review committees (designing the New West Suffolk Council and its rules), Shadow Council and report to the Shadow Cabinet/Executive. I also go to Conservative Group meetings to help shape future policy and fight Exnings corner. To aid my abilities I am also doing a BA Honours Degree in Politics through the Open University and I’m in my 2nd year. I am also on Exning Parish Council and Vice Chairman of Exning Football Club. I really like helping local groups find funds, achieve their aims and resolve local issues because I am a local!
