Work on the A11 has started: now for the A1307 and a Brandon relief road

Fantastic news for the residents of West Suffolk. Life will be easier and safer for everyone who uses the road, and it will bring huge economic benefit to Suffolk – a return twenty times greater than the cost. For local MP, Matthew Hancock, the next task is improving transport links to Haverhill by getting the dangerous A1307 dualled. The A1307 has twice as many deaths as similar roads. Matthew is campaigning for safety improvements and has raised it in the House of Commons.

A relief road around Brandon is also a priority. Matthew is fighting to keep momentum so that there is a proposal as soon as possible.

Matthew commented:

“I am glad work has begun on the A11. The road desperately needs to be dualled. The improved road will be much safer, help people get home faster and will unlock business potential. But there is still more to be done. I will work to get part of the A1307 dualled, and to see the much-needed relief road around Brandon become a reality.”
