On Friday 7th September the Secretary of State and MP for West Suffolk, Matt Hancock, briefed the membership of his Conservative Association on the current state of the Brexit negotiations. He answered many questions covering trade, fisheries, the Northern Ireland border, immigration, the Chequers plan, internal Conservative Party support and alternatives.
As Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Matt also outlined the detailed actions he is pursuing to prepare the NHS for every eventuality.
After the event many members present expressed satisfaction and support of the cabinet's minister's approach. Some said they had learnt a great deal and other expressed confidence that there will be a reasonable deal by November.
